FAQ
Who is coaching the classes?
Our coaches are ex-varsity field hockey players that play on our adult team. They've completed their SafeSport and Red Cross First Aid certifications.
Do I need to stay and watch?
Yes, we would prefer if parents remain at the facility during the practice session. It also helps to have parents watch to learn the game if their child wants to practice at home!
Where can I buy a mouthguard and shinpads? What type do we need?
You can buy a mouthguard and shin pads at Dick's Sporting Goods or any other sporting goods store. Play it Again sports also has good selection of used shin pads. Soccer shin pads are suitable.
Is field hockey a boys sport?
Yes! While it is not a male high school or collegiate sport in the U.S., field hockey is played by both men and women internationally.
Do I need to purchase a Keva membership?
No, the $120 is all that is required to attend lessons.
When is the signup deadline?
Signups are open until the day of the first session (April 5), but space is limited.
My child is almost 5 / just turned 13. Can they attend?
Yes - the only limitation for children younger than 5 is the length of the sticks available.
